Paxos Gold

Paxos Gold (PAXG) is an ERC-20 token where each unit is backed by one fine troy ounce of LBMA-grade gold held in London vaults under Paxos’s custody. Reserves are attested monthly, and qualified holders can redeem PAXG for the underlying allocated bars or sell it back to Paxos for fiat.

As a regulated commodities-backed token from a New York-chartered trust company, PAXG is one of the most institutionally credible gold-on-chain products and circulates across centralized exchanges and DeFi venues that accept it as collateral or trading pair. It plays the same role for gold that USDC plays for the dollar — a regulated reserve-backed wrapper.
