Aura is a yield aggregator built on top of Balancer, doing for veBAL what Convex did for veCRV. LPs deposit Balancer LP tokens into Aura, which routes them through a pooled veBAL position to capture boosted BAL emissions; depositors get the boost without locking BAL themselves.
Aura’s pooled veBAL position made it a structural participant in Balancer gauge weight votes, where protocols bid for AURA votes to direct emissions toward their pools. AURA is the governance token.
